Being part of a fire and rescue service has provided me with many opportunities to develop relationships. Some relationships in the fire service have been with service colleagues, whilst others have been with people I have worked in partnership with or community members whom we serve. Some relationships have been purely professional, whilst others are at a more personal level. Some have been short lived, and others have developed into lifelong friendships. Similar to many people, some of my strongest and longest lasting friendships are with people I did my initial training with and with people from the first Watch I served on. My training course was a 16 week residential programme.

The findings by the Committee, which is composed of 18 independent experts, came after considering a complaint by the woman, E. In , she started to serve as a volunteer firefighter in Lazio, Italy. She applied in for a permanent post in the National Firefighters Corps, but was refused because she did not meet the minimum cm height requirement for permanent firefighters, which applies both to male and female candidates.
She also argued that there was no justification for the different height requirements for permanent and voluntary firefighters despite performing the same functions. After she had lost her case at the regional level, E. By that time she had been a voluntary firefighter for 17 years. Such a situation raises concerns of indirect discrimination, which the State should have disproved,” said Committee member Yuval Shany. The Committee found that although the law was drafted in apparently gender-neutral terms, the imposition of an undifferentiated height requirement for male and female candidates resulted in de facto discrimination against women.
In its decision, the Committee requested that Italy compensate E. The State party is requested to report back within days detailing the measures taken to remedy the situation. The full decision by the Committee is now available online. The Optional Protocol imposes an international legal obligation on State parties to comply in good faith with the Committee’s Views.

No.1 Firemen Dating Site looking for a date that belongs to you. As I believe I MK: Is there a certain type of female who is especially appealing to a fireman?
Firefighting has very little in common with other occupations. We work the most unusual schedule you will ever find. We get paid to sleep sometimes , and we can even clean our car while we are on the clock. These things are very unusual, and when you get involved with a firefighter there are a few things you need to know. Things have changed a lot in the last 30 years in the fire station.
Many bunk rooms were a big open room with several beds, no divider walls. Most stations today have a little more privacy with divider walls, and sometimes a separate sleeping area for females. Sleeping with a bunch of men had issues with snoring, but add a woman to the room of sleeping men and things take on a whole new meaning. Being involved in serious situations causes a lot of stress.
One way that we handle this stress is with what some would call a sick sense of humor. There a certain terms we use that might be a little offensive to you at first, but it is really just how we handle our stress. It might take you a while to get used to our humor, or you may never understand it.
